KJV Psalm 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which though shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

THE BIBLE IS FILLED WITH INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE LORD
KJV 2 Timothy 3:16-17,
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Now we will take this time to have a short bible study and allow the Lord to now explain His words to us as we connect the meaning of the word "instruct" with other scriptures.
In the 'Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible,' #7919 of the Hebrew dictionary it says that the word instruct in verse 8 of Psalm 32 means, "to be (caus. make or act) circumspect and hence, intelligent;"
The word circumspect is found one place in the bible (based on the bible concordance) and that's in KJV Exodus 23:13, it says:
And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
This is a reminder to Israel to love God and to keep His commandments.
KJV Exodus 20:3, Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
N.B. Circumspect in the Hebrew dictionary (#8104) means to hedge about, to protect, to beware, take heed to (to self) ...
Did you know a name represents character in the bible? (See Exodus 33:18, 34:5-7). These words of instruction from the Lord have a very deep meaning. The Israelites were to beware of taking on the character of "other gods." This is why they needed to be instructed by the Lord lest their character became marred by other gods (which would lead to them transgress the law of God).
I'm hoping that you the reader is also stirred with much interest at these words from the Lord. To "make no mention of the name" means not to speak/talk of the name of other gods. Based on this verse, we can go to Revelation 14:5, (covers the 144,000 and The Three Angels Messages), which says, "And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God." Therefore, these instructions aren't just for ancient Israel but even for us who are alive today as the Lord desires for us to reach to a point in our Christian walk with Him wherein, He can declare us circumspect before His throne especially in our speech (no guile found in our mouths).
N.B. Guile in the Hebrew dictionary (#1388) means to decoy, to entrap, a trick (bait), i.e. (fig.) wile: -craft, deceit, subtilty, to delude.
This leads me to look at the account of Adam and Eve's experience so that we can understand, how does guile enter the mouth to mar our characters.
Read KJV Genesis 3:1-5,13
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. Why is the word beguiled highlighted?
Because it is the verb for the noun guile.
2. Who beguiled Eve?
The Serpent.
3. Where did the fruit enter?
In the mouth. For Adam and Eve ate of it. (see verse 6).
4. What did the Serpent say to Eve in verse 5?
"ye shall be as gods,"
As a result of Adam and Eve being beguiled by the serpent, listening to the voice of the tempter, they disobeyed their Creator, they sinned against God, and the light of the garments of heavenly innocence departed from them (See verse 10 of Genesis 3).
WHAT DOES GOD DESIRE FOR US TODAY, TO BE BEWARE OF WHAT?
KJV 2 Corinthians 11:3,
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
KJV Titus 2:11-14,
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
We should not yield to temptation and allow the enemy to put guile in our mouth, this will lead us to deny Christ in words and deeds. The fruit eaten by Adam and Eve affected their mind ("knowing good and evil"); and caused them to sin against God.
Notice that the 144,000 in KJV Revelation 14:1, are those that have the name of God written in their foreheads? Remember name represents character. Therefore, God desires for us to take on His character, which is without guile. As bible believing Christians, our lives should not be tainted with the corruption of this world for we must do our very best to be representatives of Jesus, keeping God's law.
KJV 2 Peter 1:4
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
With the information gathered thus far, let us now summarize all that we have just looked at to bring us back to our topic of being instructed by the Lord. The Israelites were to be circumspect, and so are we today. In God sending His own son to redeem us from all iniquity; in Him, we have a perfect example of what it means to have a pure heart and to do the will of God. We must always look first to the word of God for instruction and guidance, (study the bible diligently) that we may have an intelligent knowledge of what is truth.
KJV 1 Peter 2:21-22
1 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
In following Christ, we must remember that He is our pattern in all things. He was instructed by His parents, and by God. Likewise, we can only become intelligent children of God when we follow after His pattern.
KJV 1 Timothy 4:15-16,
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
"When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey."
KJV 2 Corinthians 13:11
11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
